Reception on the occasion of Pakistan’s independence Ambassador Khan: We continue to support Syria in confronting terrorism

Damascus (ST): The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Damascus held a reception on the occasion of the 75th Independence Anniversary, at the home of the Pakistani Ambassador in Yafour in the Damascus countryside.

In his speech, Pakistan’s Ambassador in Damascus Saeed Muhammad Khan stressed that the Pakistani people made enormous sacrifices to make their country a country of tolerance, equality and justice, stressing that Pakistan’s relations with the countries of the world are based on a deep belief in justice and equality, respect for the independence and territorial integrity of all countries and non-interference in the internal affairs of any of them.

Ambassador Khan referred to the ideals, high values, and deep-rooted historical relations between Pakistan and Syria, and their participation in similar positions in all international forums, stressing his country’s continued support for Syria in confronting terrorism.

Ambassador Khan reviewed the cooperation stations between the two friendly countries in the humanitarian, educational, medical and air transport fields, explaining that a commercial delegation from his country will visit Syria next month to discuss areas of joint commercial cooperation, lay the solid and permanent foundations for that and help the Syrian people break the unjust sanctions that have exacerbated their suffering.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari stressed in his speech that the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the Syrian and Pakistani peoples are ancient and historical, noting the support provided by Pakistan to Syria in international and regional forums.

Al-Jaafari referred to Pakistan’s clear, courageous and firm stance towards the ordeal that Syria has gone through over the past years, which has proven the depth and strength of bilateral relations in various fields, noting that Pakistan has made great efforts to mitigate the fierce campaign against Syria and its steadfast people and has stood by its side in the fight against terrorism.
