Reception at Cuban Embassy in Damascus to celebrate 58th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution

Damascus – Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Damascus held on Thursday a reception on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution.

In a speech delivered during the ceremony, Cuban Ambassador in Damascus Rogerio Manuel Santana Rodriguez congratulated the Syrian people on the victories of the Syrian Army in Aleppo, hoping Syria would achieve victory over terrorism in all Syrian territories, SANA reported.

 

The Ambassador described as strong and deep the relations between Cuba and Syria in various Fields and, pointing out to the latest agreements signed between both countries to export Cuban medicines to Syria and other agreements signed between the chambers of commerce of the two countries.

In a press statement, Presidential Political and Media Advisor Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban stressed the importance of the victory of the Cuban revolution for the entire world as Cuba proved, by its resistance to colonial domination for over half a century that the right will win.

She pointed out that the Syrian people were inspired by the lessons of the Cuban Revolution and the patience and steadfastness of the Cuban people, adding that Syria is today an example of the victory of the right.

In a similar statement, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad pointed out to Cuba’s role in supporting the resistance against colonialism and occupation, noting to the influence of the historical stances of late leader Fidel Castro on the balance of power in the world.
