Rebuilding of vital drinking water projects in Idlib countryside liberated from terrorism

The Public Company for Drinking Water in Idlib Governorate put 15 artesian wells and two water stations into service in various areas of Idlib countryside liberated from terrorism.

The Director of the Company Muhammad Ajamiya  said that the rebuilding of wells and two water stations is part of the reconstruction plan and securing water sources for the people returning to their homes and areas liberated from terrorism in Idlib countryside.

Ajamieh explained that the Company is working in parallel with these works to rebuild the water networks damaged by terrorism in the city of Khan Sheikhoun and the town of Al-Tah as part of comprehensive maintenance projects with the aim of delivering water to the homes of the people that are currently fed by tankers, in addition to following up the electrical connection of the two water stations of Al-Tah and Tal Daas, which contributes to reduce operating costs with diesel generators.

Ajamiya indicated that the maintenance of water networks and the rebuilding of a number of wells is currently being completed within the plans set by the Company during the current year in coordination with international organizations to restore all destroyed wells to service in order to encourage the people to return to their towns and villages and the return of life to normal in these areas.

Ajamieh indicated that an electrical connection project to the Al-Tah station will soon be completed and put into service within the next few days, with a similar electrical connection project to Tell Daas, which has recently begun and is expected to be completed within the next two months, with the completion of the rebuilding work for 80 percent of the drinking water network in Khan Sheikhoun.

Ajamieh pointed out that the water network of the town of Al-Tah is currently being fixed and the damaged parts are being repaired.
