Real Madrid’s midfielders already have 26 goals this season

With a total of 26 goals, they have 23% of the Whites’ goals in competitive matches so far.

As well as the great work by the squad’s four forwards, Real Madrid boasts one of the most dangerous and effective midfields. In fact, seven of the first team’s eight midfielders have now scored this season. Between them they have 26 goals in competitive matches, 23% of the 112 that the Whites have scored up to now. Di María leads the list with six goals, while Özil and Callejón have each scored five.

The scoring record of Real Madrid’s midfielders reads: fifteen goals in la Liga, five in the Champions League, five in the Copa and one in the Supercopa. Players like Di María (6) and Özil (5) are one goal away from matching their totals from last season. Callejón is on five, while Modric, Kaká and Khedira have three each. Essien completes the list, having scored one goal in la Liga against Zaragoza. The only one who is yet to score is Xabi Alonso.
