Reactions to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza

The ongoing Israeli occupation’s aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip continued on Saturday to receive reactions that express strong condemnation of the Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.

The new Israeli aggression against Gaza started yesterday and it has so far killed 12 people, including a 5-year-old girl, and a 23-year-old woman, and caused dozens of injuries, as well as heavy destruction to property.

In a statement this morning, the Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi strongly condemned the attacks of the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip, saying “in its last night’s crime, the Zionist entity once again showed its occupier and aggressor nature to the world, but the resistance of the people of Gaza will speed up the decline of this child-killing entity.”

Palestinian Foreign Ministry

Moreover, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the Israeli aggression against Gaza and demanded international protection for the Palestinian people in the occupied territories.

“The State of Palestine condemns the Israeli occupation’s premeditated assault on the Palestinian people in Gaza. It stresses that Israel’s continued aggression, including its recent assault on Gaza and the continued illegal siege of the Strip, is in flagrant and grave breach of the international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention and the UN resolutions,” said the Foreign Ministry in a statement.

“The ministry calls on the international community, in particular the Security Council and the parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, to take immediate action to bring a halt to this Israeli military aggression against the defenseless Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories and to save human lives.”

The Ministry added that “the absence of international accountability continues to encourage Israel, the occupying power, to carry out further serious international crimes against the Palestinian people, violating their human rights and causing widespread death, injury and destruction.”

“The Security Council’s inaction and failure to provide protection have led Israel to believe that it has the green light to kill Palestinians, including children, and that it can perpetrate its crimes without any accountability,” the ministry went on to say.

The ministry pointed that rogue entities like Israel that don’t respect the international law “should not be applauded and appeased by the international community. They must be denounced and held responsible for their crimes.”

PLO

On its part, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip and called for international protection for the Palestinian people.

“We strongly condemn the brutal aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip by the occupation forces, which targets civilians, children and its infrastructure,” said Hussein al-Sheikh, Secretary General of the PLO’s Executive Committee, according to WAFA News Agency.

“We call on the international community to intervene and provide protection for our people,” he added.

Lebanon

On its part, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry said that “Lebanon strongly condemns the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip and calls on the international community to intervene quickly to stop this aggression.”

The Ministry also urged the international community to exert pressure on the Zionist entity “to abide by the UN resolutions, in order to preserve the Palestinian civilians who suffer greatly from the unjust Israeli siege.”

Lebanese Hizbollah and Amal Movements

Meanwhile, Hizbollah Deputy Secretary General Naeem Qasem affirmed that the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people in Gaza reaffirms the criminal and aggressive nature of the Israeli entity.

Commenting on the assassination of the leader in the Palestinian Al-Jihad Movement Tayseer Al-Jaabari in a residential building in Gaza and the killing and wounding of innocent Palestinians, Qasem said that these are crimes that must not go without punishment, stressing that the Israeli occupation should be held accountable for its crimes.

On its part, Amal Movement said that the Israeli occupation disregards all international agreements and conventions by targeting unarmed Palestinians, assassinating Palestinian resistance leaders, imposing unfair blockade on Gaza, building a racist segregation wall, storming into the Palestinian cities and holy places, detaining civilians, judaizing Al-Quds and committing crimes against the Palestinian women and children.

The movement pointed out that the Israeli entity exploits the international tension in the world to continue practicing its organized terrorism which endangers peace and security in the region and the entire world.”
