Reactions to Israeli aggression on Yemen

The Israeli aggression on the port of Hodeidah in Yemen on Saturday received strong condemnation by a number of countries, parties and personalities.

Iran strongly condemns Israeli strikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani has strongly condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Yemen, saying that the Yemeni people are paying the price of their support for the innocent Palestinians in Gaza, including women and children.

Kanaani said on Saturday that the Israeli attacks, which hit Yemen’s western port city of Hodeidah, show the “aggressive nature of the child-killing regime of Israel.”

According to IRNA News Agency, Kanaani said that the continued killing of the defenseless people of Gaza is the root cause of the ongoing tensions in region, stressing that regional peace will not be restored until the Israeli entity stops conducting acts of aggression against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip.

The Iranian official warned of further escalation and the spillover of war in the region, saying that “Israel” and its supporters, including the US, will be directly responsible for “unpredictable and dangerous consequences” of the continued crimes in Gaza and attacks on Yemen.

Israel launched airstrikes on the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah on Saturday. Yemeni media said that the strikes left a number of people killed and injured.

The strikes came a day after Yemen conducted a drone attack on “Tel Aviv” that killed a person and injured ten others.

Yemen said that the Tel Aviv attack was part of its operations, ongoing since mid-November, in support of Palestinians in Gaza.

Yemen has said that it will continue to support Gazans until the Israeli entity stops its war on the besieged Palestinian territory and lifts its blockade.

Hezbollah: Aggression on fuel tanks in Hodeidah a foolish step

For its part, the Lebanese resistance movement “Hezbollah” affirmed that the Israeli aggression that targeted fuel tanks in the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen is a foolish step that marks a new and dangerous phase of confrontation across the entire region.

Hizbollah said in a statement on Saturday, that the foolish step taken by the Zionist enemy marks a new and dangerous phase of extremely important confrontation at the level of the entire region, and we have full confidence that the Yemeni leadership, with its knowledge, courage, and strength, is capable of taking the steps. It is appropriate and necessary to deter this enemy and its allies, stressing that we stand alongside the Yemeni people in defending themselves, their sovereignty, and their heroic and historic stance alongside Palestine, its people, and its resistance.

The party explained that the treacherous Zionist aggression against Yemen, with full American protection and support, is a continuation of the American-British aggression against Yemen and the ongoing and continuing siege on its people for many years. It is an unequivocal confirmation of the utmost importance of the support fronts in the entire region and their great role in defending the Palestinian people.
