Reactions to Haniyeh’s Assassination in Tehran

Beirut, (ST) –  The Lebanese national Resistance stressed that the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas Ismail Haniyeh will increase the determination of the resistance fighters in all resistance arenas to continue the path of resistance.

In a statement, Hezbollah offered its condolences to the Palestinian people and all factions in the Palestinian resistance for the martyrdom of Haniyeh. It stressed that the crime of his assassination will make the resistance fighters’ resolve stronger in confronting the Zionist enemy, the killer of women and children, the perpetrator of genocide in Gaza, and the usurper of the land of Palestine and the sanctities of the nation.

The party praised Haniyeh’s positions in confronting the American hegemony project and the Zionist occupation. It stressed that the resistance fighters are ready to sacrifice and be martyred for the cause in which they believe.

Abbas calls on Palestinian people to unite in face of occupation after the assassination of Haniyeh,

Meanwhile, the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the assassination of Haniyeh by the Israeli occupation.

Wafa News Agency reported that Abbas considered the assassination a cowardly act and a dangerous development, calling on the Palestinian people to unite, be patient and steadfast in the face of the occupation.

For his part, the Chairman of the Palestinian National Council Rawhi Fattouh stressed that the assassination of Haniyeh is a criminal act that will plunge the region into a cycle of violence.

In turn, Fatah Movement stressed that the policy of assassinations will not be useful in breaking the will of the Palestinian people to achieve their national rights, calling for solidarity, cooperation and unity, by strengthening steadfastness and confronting the occupation and rejecting all conspiracies to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

The Islamic Jihad Movement mourned Ismail Haniyeh indicated that the sinful assassination carried out by the criminal enemy will not deter the Palestinians from continuing the resistance to put an end to the Zionist criminality that has crossed all limits.

In this context, the Palestinian national forces announced a general strike in all Palestinian territories, in condemnation of the assassination, and said in a statement: The assassination of Haniyeh comes within the framework of the occupation’s terrorism and the war of extermination, destruction and killing, in light of the international community’s inability to stop the war and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes.

They stressed that this crime will increase the Palestinian people’s determination to adhere to their rights and principles and continue the struggle for freedom and independence.
