Re-pumping water into Hasaka City after a week-stoppage

Hasaka, (ST) – the General Institute of Drinking Water in Hasaka Province on Sunday morning started to pump water into Hasaka City after a stoppage which lasted for more than a week as the mercenaries of the Turkish regime prevented the workers of the institute from entering Alouk water plant in the countryside of Ras al-Ayn City.

The Institute’s Director General Mahmoud al-Okla told SANA reporter that the process of pumping water from water tanks in Tal Tamir towards al-Nashwa neighborhood in Hasaka City is being performed in an emergent way with the aim of providing the needs of citizens of drinking water in light of the instability of the water supply which comes from Alouk plant.

Water pumping will be resumed towards the city and the surrounding neighborhoods till refilling the water tanks again, al-Okla added.

The Turkish regime and its mercenaries are committing a humanitarian crime against the locals in the province through depriving more than 700 thousand people in Hasaka City and the surrounding areas of the water after they established control over Alouk water plant in the countryside of Ras al-Ayn City.
