Raqqa, (ST) – The governor of Raqqa Abd al-Razzaq Khalifa and the delegation of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), headed by Hussein Mujahid, Head of the World Food Program in Qamishli, on Monday discussed the projects that are being implemented in the province of Raqqa and ways to strengthen cooperation to ensure an effective response in the province.
Khalifa stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with various United Nations organizations to meet the needs of the government at various levels, especially water, relief, food aid, health, agriculture and others in the light of the difficult circumstances that Syria is going through and the limited capabilities.
Khalifa praised the efforts made by some international organizations to implement a number of vital projects in the governorate. He called for additional support that corresponds to the actual needs there.
The members of the OCHA delegation gave an explanation about the nature of the work and the projects that are being implemented in the governorate, especially in the field of education, health, drinking water, agriculture, child support, reproductive health, cleaning irrigation canals and supporting farmers with drip irrigation networks.
The directors of the concerned departments also called for implementing the proposed projects according to the needs in the region.
