Rally in Vienna to protest against the coercive economic measures imposed on Syria

VIENNA, (ST)- Members of the “Hands off Syria” initiative in Vienna organized on Wednesday a rally in front of the European Union building in the Austrian capital, Vienna, to protest against the economic blockade and the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria and which have worsened the suffering of the Syrians and affected the country’s infrastructure.

In a statement, a copy of which was handed over to the European Commission, members of the initiative called for ending the economic blockade imposed on the Syrians and for stopping all forms of support being provided to terrorist organizations to implement their masters’ aggressive schemes in Syria.

The statement noted the double standards policies adopted by the European Union and represented in imposing coercive measures on the Syrian people while claiming that they are keen on protecting the Syrians’ interests.

It reiterated that the European Union doesn’t have the right to launch any form of military, economic or political war on a sovereign state, calling on the European Union to abandon its economic siege policy completely.
