Rally in Damascus in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The prisoners solidarity committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) organized on Monday a rally in solidarity with the Palestinian sick and hunger striking prisoners in the Israeli occupation jails.

The participants, who gathered in front of the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in Damascus, protested against the Israeli occupation’s racist and arbitrary practices against the Palestinian prisoners.

They handed the ICRC’s mission a memo in which they demanded an end to the racist policies and arbitrary measures practiced by the Israeli occupation against the prisoners in the Israeli jails and to the harsh and life-threatening treatment those prisoners are subjected to.

The participants called on the Red Cross to activate its role in cooperation with the international bodies, that are concerned in defending human rights, to bring the officials of the occupation successive governments to international courts to be judged.

The memo included the names of the Palestinian prisoners who were martyred inside the occupation jails during 2019 because of deliberate medical negligence, including captives Fares Ahmad Baroud, Omar Ouni, Nassar Majed Taqatqa, Bassam al-Sayeh and Sami Abu Dayak.
