Raisi: Washington seeks to keep the countries of the world in a state of backwardness

Samarkand (ST): Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stressed that US unilateralism seeks to keep the countries of the world in a state of backwardness, calling on the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to take a set of economic measures  to confront it, including regulating sustainable trade between members of the Organization, developing financial infrastructure and exchanging goods and data.

Raisi said during the expanded meeting of the leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization today that Iran gives priority in its foreign policy to the Organization and to dealing with the countries that support it, stressing the important role of his country in ensuring stability and security in the region, especially in dealing with Takfiri terrorism, extremism and drug smuggling and addressing other forms of crime the Organization.

Raisi pointed out that the SCO is a symbol of the great family of global civilizations and can today build new horizons for increasing regional cooperation in order to establish security on the basis of justice and respect for human dignity.
