Raisi to Lavrov: Crimes against women and children in Gaza are carried out with direct support from the United States and the West

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi confirmed that what is happening in Gaza are terrible crimes against innocent, defenseless women and children, and they are being carried out with direct and official support from the United States and other Western countries.

During his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is visiting Tehran to participate in the meeting of the Cooperation Group in the Caucasus region in the format (3 plus 3), Raisi referred to the words of US President Joe Biden, “that if Israel had not existed in the region, the United States would have taken steps to create it.” He said: “This statement means that the Americans, in order to protect their interests, are ready to shed the blood of women and children and destroy the Palestinian people”.

Raisi added: Today, America is trying to follow up on what it failed to achieve on the ground by supporting the Zionist entity and securing its racist interests by issuing a resolution in the UN Security Council, and therefore the free countries and peoples of the world hope to prevent Russia from achieving American intentions given its position and influence in the Security Council, As well as on the international scene.

Raisi considered that foreign intervention increases crises and escalates problems in the region in general, expressing his hope that the results of the Tehran meeting will lead to enhancing security, stability, peace and resolving existing disputes.

Raisi also pointed to the common desire of Iran and Russia to improve the level of cooperation, especially economic cooperation, and said: “Iran is determined to implement bilateral agreements and stresses accelerating and facilitating their implementation”.

For his part, the Russian Foreign Minister stressed his country’s commitment to implementing all its cooperation agreements with Iran in the economic, trade, transportation, culture and energy fields, and said: “Participation in the (3+3) meeting in Tehran is necessary and a manifestation of regional cooperation between Russia and Iran”.
