Raisi: The relations between Iran and Syria are strategic, and my visit to  Damascus comes to consolidate and develop these relations

Tehran (ST): Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi affirmed that his country’s relations with Syria are strategic and deep, indicating that his visit to Syria comes within the framework of consolidating and developing these relations in all fields.

Raisi stressed, in an interview with Al-Mayadeen TV broadcast yesterday, his country’s readiness to cooperate with Syria regarding the reconstruction process.

Raisi explained that his country has supported the Syrian state since the beginning of the war against it in the face of the takfiris and terrorists. He said: “The Americans and the Zionists pinned a lot of hopes that Syria would collapse and that they would break the front line of resistance.”

Raisi welcomed the restoration of relations between Syria and the rest of the countries in the region, calling for the immediate departure of the American forces illegally present on the Syrian territory.

Raisi pointed out that his country extends the hand of friendship and cooperation to any country that wants to deal with it, whether in our region or abroad, expressing his country’s readiness to join the BRICS group.

Raisi continued, “We had to expose the lie of the Americans fighting terrorism and let the world know that they are the ones running it. They thought that by assassinating Hajj Qassem Soleimani, they would eliminate his approach, but his approach has become a school for the youth of the resistance in the region.”

Raisi indicated that in the past 44 years the enemy did not commit any foolishness against Iran, not because it did not want to, but rather because it was unable to do so, pointing out that the threats of the Zionist entity are empty, and if it takes the least step against Iran, it will not withstand the Iranian response.
