Racist expansionist policy

Since the creation of Israel in 1948, successive Israeli governments have been adopting an expansionist settlement policy based on confiscating Palestinian lands and constructing settlements to absorb thousands of incoming Jewish settlers from various parts of the world.

The recent declaration made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his intention to annex the Jordan Valley in the West Bank to Zionist entity comes in the framework of the racist expansionist policy adopted by Israel since its creation.

The ominous declaration represents a new aggression against the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and the attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause. It constitutes a blatant violation of the UN resolutions with regard to the legal status of the occupied Palestinian territories.

Netanyahu’s declaration also comes in the context of the so-called “Deal of the Century”. The current weak Arab status quo has enabled the occupation entity to press ahead with its continued aggression against the Arab nation.  The weakness of the Arab status quo pushed some Arab states to rush and encourage for the free normalization with this racist entity. They   bear the historical responsibility for conceding Arab rights and encouraging Netanyahu for such illegitimate criminal behavior.

Netanyahu’s statement is an aggressive electoral propaganda and a racist settlement policy designed to deprive the Palestinian people of their rights, and a very dangerous occupation step towards Palestine.

There is a necessity for providing international protection for the Palestinian people and territories from the Israeli policy of expropriation by force. There should be a real practical and responsible effort at all levels to address the expansionism of the Zionist regime, which deliberately violates international law and the UN Security Council resolutions, namely Resolution 242 and Resolution 338.

The US has given Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the green light for his controversial annexation plan.  Netanyahu’s sinister initiative had been coordinated with the Americans. The idea was supported by the American administration in the statements of David Friedman, the American ambassador to Israel, who said Israel has the right to annex the settlements, and also by Trump’s ex-Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt, who used the term Judea and Samaria area instead of West Bank or the occupied West Bank.

Since taking office in 2017, Trump has been showering Netanyahu with political gifts, including recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s “capital” and moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to the occupied city as well as cutting aid to the Palestinians and closing the Palestine Liberation Organization’s office in Washington. Before Israel’s  last April elections, Trump signed a decree recognizing Israeli “sovereignty” over occupied Golan.

The declaration is part of Tel Aviv’s broader plans to change the identity of Palestine.  It is part of Israel’s continued attempts to change the historical identity of Palestine, change the geographic and demographic status of Palestine and obliterate its genuine Arab identity.

In the face of Netanyahu’s racist expansionist policy, the choice of resistance and steadfastness will preserve the Arab rights and will defend the present of the Arab nation and guarantee its future.
