Qatari delegate to the UNSC: Reasons for imposing sanctions on Syria no longer exist

The Qatari delegate to the UN Security Council Alya Ahmad bin Seif Al Thani has called for lifting the sanctions imposed on Syria as reasons for imposing these sanctions no longer exist.

She said in a statement ” the Syrian people deserve recognition and support from the international community for their national project. ”

She added “the current phase requires the Syrian state to have exclusive control over weapons through a unified army.”

“We condemn the Israeli occupation’s seizure of the buffer zone with Syria, the Qatari delegate to the UN Security Council said.
