Qatar calls for urgent international action to stop repeated Israeli raids on Syria

Qatar strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes that targeted five areas in Syria, killing and wounding dozens of civilians and military personnel.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered the raids a blatant attack on Syria’s sovereignty and unity and a flagrant violation of international law.

In a statement today, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to take urgent action to compel Israel to comply with international laws and norms and to halt its repeated attacks on Syrian territory, thus preventing further escalation and tension in the region.

The Ministry reiterated Qatar’s full support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and the aspirations of its brotherly people for security and stability.

Hamas also strongly condemned the “ongoing Zionist aggression” against Syria, noting that the recent incursion into Daraa Governorate and the crimes against civilians are added to the occupation’s “terrorist record of aggression and criminality.”

In its statement, the movement reiterated that these attacks are not separate from the widespread fascist aggression taking place in Gaza, the West Bank, and Al_Quds, emphasizing that these policies embody the continuation of the Zionist project based on oppression and occupation.

Hamas praised the “steadfastness and brave resistance of the people in Daraa in the face of the Israeli incursion, considering that this confrontation reflects the will of the people to resist aggression and refuse submission.
