Qatar Announces Humanitarian Initiative to supply Syria with Gas

Qatar has announced a humanitarian initiative, directed by the Emir of the country, with the aim of supplying Syria with natural gas through Jordanian territory for a specified period to contribute to generating electrical power starting from 400 megawatts, an amount that will gradually increase.

The initiative aims to help address the severe shortage in electricity production in Syria and improve the infrastructure performance in the country.

The Qatari initiative is presented by the Qatar Development Fund to support the Syrian Arab Republic.
