Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the high level of tension in the world requires additional efforts to ensure strategic stability, primarily Russia’s obtaining comprehensive security guarantees from the United States and NATO.
In a speech to workers of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the occasion of the Day of Diplomatic Workers, Putin said: “The situation in the world has become increasingly volatile and tense. This, of course, requires continuous additional efforts to ensure strategic stability and to confront emerging threats and challenges, primarily by seeking comprehensive and legal guarantees for the security of our country from the United States and its NATO allies.”
Putin stressed the need to work urgently to build a “fair and stable multipolar world order,” highlighting at the same time the importance of systematic coordination to strengthen the rule of international law and the central coordinating role of the United Nations in order to build a just and stable multipolar world order.
