Putin to Talk about Goals of Military Operations against “ISIL” in Syria

 MOSCOW, (ST)-President Vladimir Putin of Russia is due today to have a meeting with Russian Armed Forces’ officers in order to talk about the details and the goals of the Russian air military operations aiming to fight terrorism in Syria, the Kremlin Press Office announced Monday evening.

 During the meeting, Putin will specify missions to be implemented by the officers of the Russian army and security forces.

Late in last September, Russia announced the launch of airstrikes against the terrorists under a request from the Syrian leadership and within the framework of President Putin’s initiative on combating terrorism.
