MOSCOW- Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Hasan Ruhani of Iran have had a phone conversation to discuss the situation in Syria, confirming the countries’ adherence to a peaceful solution to the conflict, and pointed out the importance of the preparations for the international conference Geneva-2 according to the Voice of Russia.
Regarding the Iranian nuclear program, Putin reiterated that a real chance to resolve this old problem has now appeared, the Kremlin press service reported on Monday.
Rouhani , in turn, praised the work done by Russia with the international Sextet.
The conversation addressed vital issues of the bilateral agenda, specifically, the realization of the agreements reached by the leaders of Russia and Iran in Bishkek on September 13, 2013.
The conversation took place at the initiative of President Putin.
