Beijing- Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Moscow, Tehran and Baku are scheduled to hold a trilateral meeting.
Putin who is in China to attend the Belt and Road Initiative conference, told reporters that the meeting will be held with the attendance of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Azerbaijan President IlhamAliyev within months.
The last trio meeting between Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan was held two years ago.
Putin added that the Belt and Road Initiative has major role in reinforcing Eurasian states’ economy.
Stressing the fact that the initiative is in line with Moscow development plans, he expressed readiness for creating a transparent context for promoting cooperation all around Eurasia.
It was in 2013 that Chinese President Xi Jinping introduced the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative, a plan to link China with Asia, Africa and Europe via a network of ports, railways and roads.
Since March 2019, 125 countries and 29 international organizations have signed 173 agreements on the goals of the Silk Road economic belt.
To deal with the process of developing the regional countries’ port cities in line with revival of Silk Road, Iran will be an economically ideal choice because of its southeastern Chabahar Port as a great trade zone for international interactions.
Iran can also deliver its domestic products to the target markets more quickly through the new Silk Road.
So, Iran, enjoying appropriate capacities to transfer energy to South and East Asia through its maritime routes, can also be an important gate for great eastern economic traders like India and China.
