Putin: Friendship between Syria and Russia confirmed by President Al-Assad’s recent visit to Moscow

Moscow, (ST) – Russian President Vladimir Putin considered that the relations of friendship and cooperation between Syria and Russia are confirmed by the visit of President Bashar Al-Assad to Moscow, during which it was agreed to strengthen cooperation.

“Syria is a friend of Russia and a trusty partner and ally in the Arab world and the international arena. The relations binding us are based on respect and cooperation which were confirmed by the visit made by President Bashar al- Assad to Russia and by the agreements reached to boost cooperation in all domains.” Putin said while accepting the credentials of a number of ambassadors, including the Syrian ambassador, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari.

“Our partnership with Syria is strong and we will continue to support it in combating terrorism and facing the repercussions of the earthquake.
