Putin, Erdogan Discuss Joint Steps in Syria

MOSCOW-  The Russian and Turkish Presidents, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, discussed international issues in a phone conversation, focusing on joint steps in Syria, the Kremlin said on Saturday, according to Itar Tass.

“Pressing regional and international issues have been discussed. Particular attention was paid to joint steps aimed at solving the crisis in Syria on the basis of corresponding resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the agreements reached within the Astana format,” the statement said.”

“Both sides underscored mutual aspirations to promote cooperation in diverse fields,” the press service said.

The Syrian news agency SANA said That for years, the Turkish regime has turned Turkey’s territories into a base and a crossing for terrorists to enter Syria. It provided all forms of support for the terrorist organizations, including Daesh and Jabhat al-Nusra, which are on the international terrorism list, and bought stolen Syrian oil from Daesh.
