Putin and Merkel Discuss the Situation in Syria and Libya

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with German Chancellor Angela Merkel during a phone call on Friday  the  political solution to the crisis in Libya and the situation in Syria and the Ukraine.

The Kremlin press  office said in a statement that Putin pointed out during the call to the importance of coordinating the decisions taken with the Libyan parties during the Berlin conference in order to be approved by the UN Security Council. The statement  underscored  that the two sides stressed the intensification of the efforts of the international community in order to ensure the launch of a political Libyan dialogue  and cease-fire.

The participants in the Berlin conference on Libya, which was held on the 19th  of January  , stressed the necessity of not interfering in the internal affairs of Libya  and  solving the crisis in it through a comprehensive political process.
