MOSCOW, (ST)-Russian President Vladimir Putin in a phone call on Friday with President of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed the importance of joint fight against terrorism.
According to a Kremlin statement, “the two presidents exchanged views on the situation in Syria and stressed the need of joint anti-terror efforts.”
Putin and Erdogan discussed prospects of economic and political cooperation in the light of the agreement reached between Russia and Turkey in Petersburg earlier this month, the statement added.
In Geneva, the Russian and US foreign ministers are holding intensive talks on ways to solve the crisis in Syria and fight terrorism, according to the Russian Foreign ministry.
