Pushkov: Presidential election is a legitimate right, new victory for the Syrian people

MOSCOW, (ST ) _ Chairman of the International Relations Committee in the Russian Duma Alexei Pushkov stressed that the presidential elections in Syria is a legitimate right for the Syrian people and a ” new victory in the record of victories of the Syrian people.”

During a meeting with Syrian Ambassador in Moscow Dr. Riad Haddad, yesterday, Pushkov stressed the Russian parliamentarians are willing to keep up with the presidential elections in Syria, due on June the 3rd, indicating that a joint delegation representing the State Duma deputies and members of the Russian Federation Council will go to Syria and keep up with the process of the presidential election there.”

In turn, ambassador Haddad pointed out that the Syrian people continue their steadfastness since more than three years against the global terrorist aggression, funded by international and regional powers.

“The Syrian people view the next election as a battle of defense against international terrorism and a new form of addressing terrorists, “the ambassador emphasized.

He stressed that the presidential elections is a sovereign right for the Syrian people, referring to the escalation of criminal acts carried out by armed terrorist groups instructed by external forces working to change the balance of forces on the ground.
