Lattakia,(ST)- Wahda, the powerhouse club of Damascus, have deservedly beaten Jazeera 7-2 in the Profe3ssional Soccer League 2nd leg 6th round at the sporting complex of Lattakia.
Hamoud Hmoud, Osama Omari, Majid Haj, Rislan Kurdi, Ahmad Qadour and Mohammad Bash Biouk scored for Wahda (45, 56, 77, 67, 46, 79, 90+2) while Hameed Othman and Mahmoud Omar scored for Jazeera (63,81).
In other actions, Karama scored their third victory in a row over ex-top of the league Jaish 2-0 at the Bassel stadium.
Sha’lan Bitar and Mohammad Aziz scored for Karama only to lift their tally to 21 points.
A late goal by RaedKurdi gave his side Muhafaza an emphatic victory over Taleeaa at the Jableh stadium.
Earlier, Hutteen defeated Ittihad 3-2 at the Bassel stadium in Lattakia in the opening matches of the 6th round.
It was a very important match for both teams as they relentlesslt struggling to avoid relegation.
Early in the first half, Ittihad opened the scoring through Ibrahim Sawas. Then Hutteen scored three goals in succession through Mohammad jaafar and Mohammad Fares (16,42,67).
In the 68thminute, Ittihad were able to cut the deficit through Raafat Muhtadi.
Through the course of the match, both teams were able to amend the score but they squandered so many clear chances.
Points position to date: Wahda 27, Jaish 26, Muhafaza 22, Karama 21, Taleeaa 16, Hutteen 14, Ittihad 13, Jazeera 13, and finally Futuwa with only seven points.
