DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Minister of Tourism Eng. Bisher Yazigi underlined that the ministry will provide all legislative and practical facilities to national investors to establish new tourism projects and re-launch the stalled projects through proper and transparent treatment of the problems facing these projects and finding appropriate solutions.
During a meeting with a number of investors, businessmen and owners of tourist facilities in the Dama Rose Hotel, Eng. Yazigi pointed out that the ministry owns investment opportunities within the vision planning, which the ministry started recently, and pointed to the importance of new participatory formulation with the banks and issuance of some of the decrees that make the process of work easier and overcome the obstacles facing investors.
Eng. Yazigi noted the need to finalize the plans for the projects and tourist investments in the public and private sectors to begin the implementation phase in the coming period after the return of security to Syria, adding that facilities and special legislations will be put for the development of major areas after mapping out the final touches of the tourist map in Syria and completing the Decree 198 governing the work of tourist facilities.
The participants discussed the obstacles facing investors, the conditions of some of the stalled projects and the impact of the crisis on employment, investment and obstacles hinder the process of investment.
