Protests in Bahrain in Solidarity with Political Prisoners

Demonstrators in Bahrain have gathered in front of the country’s detention centers in solidarity with political prisoners.

The residents of the villages of Samaheej and Shakhura took to the streets, carrying pictures of political prisoners.

The protesters chanted anti-government slogans and slammed Manama for its harsh crackdown on members of the country’s main opposition party, the al-Wefaq National Islamic Society.

Earlier this week, Bahraini security forces raided the house of the opposition party’s Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Hussein al-Dihi.
