Demonstrations in Beirut and a number of areas in south and north Lebanon continued on Friday as the demonstrators headed to the main squares in Beirut, Sidon, Khaldeh and Tripoli to the north of Lebanon and closed off several major roads causing a paralysis in Beirut and other cities as all Lebanese establishments including banks have been closed.
Meanwhile, Lebanese security forces closed all roads leading to the Presidential Palace amid tight security measures following the invitations circulated to demonstrators to head to the presidential palace.
Demonstrations started in Lebanon on October 17 in protest against the deteriorating economic conditions and the decisions taken by the Lebanese cabinet to impose new fees on communications.
