Sit-ins and closure of public roads resumed in a number of Lebanese regions in protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions in the country.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency, protesters blocked some roads in the capital, Beirut, in protest against the deteriorating living conditions in the country.
Other protesters also blocked the roads at Martyrs’ Square and the eastern highway in Sidon with burning tires. The traffic control room of the Internal Security Forces stated that the protesters blocked the port highway in Tripoli, northern Lebanon.
In Bekaa, protesters blocked the public road, Al-Marj- Jeb Jenin, with burning tires.
A march of protesters took place earlier on Saturday in several streets in Beirut and in front of the Lebanese Ministry of Interior, during which slogans and banners were raised calling for an improvement in economic and living conditions.
Since October 17, 2019, many Lebanese regions have witnessed demonstrations and sit-ins protesting the deteriorating living and economic conditions and demanding the fight against corruption in the country.
