Protest sit-ins continue in a number of Lebanese regions

Beirut,(ST)- A number of Lebanese protested again today in some Lebanese regions, calling for the speedy formation of the Lebanese government, accountability for the corrupt and fighting corruption.

According to the Lebanese National Media Agency, dozens of protesters carried out a sit-in in front of the Banque du Liban in Tripoli and chanted slogans against the bank’s financial policy in light of the security forces’ presence in the area. A number of other protesters gathered in front of the Kadisha Electricity Company in Al-Bahsas in the city and chanted anti corruption slogans pertaining to the electricity sector.

 

In the Bekaa, dozens of protesters protested in front of the Banque du Liban in the city of Zahle to condemn the bank’s financial policy.

Since October 17, Lebanon has witnessed sit-ins and demonstrations demanding improvement in the living conditions, fighting corruption and holding corrupt people to account.
