Prospects for Joint Syrian-Emirati Economic Cooperation Discussed

The role of the private sector in activating the intra-Syrian-Emirati trade movement, the importance of developing economic relations between the two countries as well as the development policies pursued by the UAE government to achieve economic diversification, were among the most important topics discussed during the meeting held by the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Dr. Mohammed Samer al-Khalil with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Damascus Hassan Ahmed Al-Shehhi.

For his part, the Emirati ambassador drew attention to the bilateral ties between the two countries, stressing the UAE’s keenness to strengthen and develop joint relations in the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

During the meeting, an invitation from the UAE side was handed over to Minister al-Khalil to attend the 13th edition of the AIM Investment Summit, to be held next month in Abu Dhabi under the theme “Adapting to the transformation of the investment landscape: harnessing new potential to promote global economic development.”
