Producers from Aleppo prepare opening (Producers 2020) exhibition in Tekkiye Sulaymaniyah in Damascus

The exhibition halls in Tekkiye Suleymaniye in central Damascus combine dozens of Aleppian producers who arrange and organize the products of their factories and workshops of food, leather, clothing, sweets, industrial tools, antiques, and silverware on the shelves and tables of the pavilions of the “Producers 2020” exhibition, which will be launched today.

The participating Aleppian producers were able, after providing the necessary facilities, to restore work and production to their factories that were destroyed or looted by terrorists. They were able to establish their new projects to launch their first products through the “Producers 2020” exhibition. The participants hope to establish partnerships with merchants and businessmen to market their products internally and externally. They seek to prove themselves as entrepreneurs in various fields consistent with the strategy of small and medium enterprises as an effective way to break the siege and confront unilateral coercive economic measures on Syria and achieve part of the food and production sufficiency.

Samer Jakoush from the Arab Group for Exhibitions and Conferences organizing the exhibition said that 77 companies from Aleppo came to participate in the exhibition. They are industrialists who have been affected by terrorism, renovated their factories and started production again. He indicated that the aim of the exhibition is to showcase the products of industrialists, gain new customers and introduce local products, which represent a great opportunity to dispense with imported products.

Jakoush confirmed that the preparations are in their final stages after the arrival of the exhibitors and their goods, and most of the exhibitors were ready to open the exhibition today at 4 pm to receive visitors for five days. He stressed that the Syrian industrialist is always distinguished and can return to work and production despite all difficulties.

One of the participants noted that we are working to return the economic life after the years of war which affected production and workshops. The short time is considered an achievement.  We are optimistic about the exhibition and its results, which will end with signing marketing partnerships with merchants in Damascus and elsewhere.

In the food industries section, Dr. Haitham Khalil, director of a food industries factory confirmed that small and medium industries are the largest tributary of the national economy because it supports large industries, pointing out that local products are irreplaceable because they help cover the market need and relieve the importer.

George Khoury of a company for the manufacture of wood works pointed out that their company is a group of Aleppo industrialists called “young producers after the war” who decided  to open a small group for wood industries after their work was damaged. So, they bought modern machines for manufacturing with high speed and accuracy. And today they participate in the exhibition with the aim of expanding their relations with merchants and introducing their products.
