“Producers 2020” exhibition provided successful example of entrepreneurship, production

The five-day “Producers 2020” exhibition, held in Takkiya Suleimanyah in Damascus from November 2 to 6, witnessed a high turnout of visitors and has succeeded in attracting many traders, industrialists, entrepreneurs and experts as well as official delegations and media outlets.

In a press release on Saturday, the Arab Group for Exhibitions and Conferences, the organizer of the “Producers 2020” event, said that the exhibition formed a platform for Aleppo producers to communicate and establish partnerships with entrepreneurs, traders and industrialists and to be directly in touch with consumers.

The visit of President Bashar Al-Assad and Mrs. Asma Al-Assad to the exhibition was a real honor for the producers and a support message that motivated them to continue with their projects and creative works, according to the group.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, a work meeting was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus between some producers and a number of members of the Syrian Chambers of Commerce in addition to traders from Damascus, Damascus countryside, Sweidaa and Daraa provinces with the aim of exchanging expertise and discussing requirements for opening markets and expanding the producers’ projects, the group said in its press release.

A team from the Directorate of Industrial and Commercial Property Protection visited the exhibition and met with the participating produces in order to brief them on the importance of registering their trademarks with the purpose of protecting their industrial and commercial rights.

In a statement to journalists, Director of the group Alaa Hilal said that the most important thing about the exhibition is that it has turned these hero producers into an example to follow by all Syrian youths and an inspiration for all the Syrians in defeating the feeling of frustration and enhancing the spirit of initiative, work and production.

The Syrian province of Aleppo suffered from terrorism for years, during which many Aleppo producers lost their works after their workshops were destroyed, yet they never lost hope. They managed to overcome the difficulties and with simple tools, they started again to produce high quality goods.

The “Producers 2020” exhibition was held between November 2nd and 6th with the participation of 137 producers representing 77 projects covering several industries, including textile, furniture and food industries as well as handicrafts.
