Prisoners Affairs Commission: The lives of 130 child prisoners in Megiddo prison are in danger

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission revealed that the Israeli occupation authorities are detaining 130 children in Megiddo prison who are subjected to daily torture and abuse and suffer from the spread of diseases.

It called on international organizations concerned with children’s rights to intervene to save their lives.

The Commission clarified in a statement on Wednesday that the child prisoners suffer from difficult conditions as the occupation authorities detain them in cells that lack the minimum necessities of life and deprive them of food and personal hygiene supplies, which has led to the spread of infectious skin diseases among them.

It indicated that the danger of these diseases increases with the rise in temperatures and that the occupation deprives them of medicine and those who seek treatment are subjected to torture, and the occupation detains them in solitary confinement without any regard for international laws and conventions.
