Prisoners Affairs Commission calls on the international community to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes

On December 10, the Palestinian Prisoners and Liberators Affairs Commission said that the continued Israeli occupation authorities with its violations and repressive practices against Palestinian prisoners form a breach of international humanitarian law and human rights laws as thousands of prisoners, including children and women, remain in the detention camps of the occupation and suffer hard conditions of detention.

 

On the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, the Commission said that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to arrest dozens of Palestinians daily and practiced against them all forms of physical and psychological abuse and torture,  WAFA News Agency reported.

The Commission pointed out that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to beat the prisoners inside their detention centers in addition to violating the prisoners’ rights to treatment and health care services through a policy of deliberate medical neglect.

The commission called on the international community to intervene urgently to implement its legal and moral obligations towards the Palestinians and take effective measures to hold the occupation accountable for its daily crimes against them.
