Family of Prisoner Abu Hamid appeals to ICRC to pressure the occupation to transfer him to a hospital in the West Bank
Occupied Al- Quds, (ST) – The family of the Palestinian prisoner, Nasser Abu Hamid, who suffers from cancer, appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to pressure the Israeli occupation to transfer Abu Hamid to a hospital in the West Bank, in light of the serious deterioration of his healthcondition.
The Commission for the Affairs of Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees said in a statement today, reported by Wafa News Agency that Muhammad, the brother of the prisoner Nasser, who is with him in Ramla detention center, confirmed that his health condition is rapidly deteriorating, as cancer has spread throughout his body. He said that his brother suffers from complete damage to the left lung and from Dangerous fluids gathered around his lungs, he almost completely lost movement in his limbs.
The brother of the prisoner, Nasser, appealed to the Red Cross and the international human rights and humanitarian institutions to urgently intervene to pressure the occupation authorities to release his brother, and transfer him to a hospital in the West Bank so that his family could visit him and say goodbye to him before losing him. He added that it is now medically impossible for Nasser to be brought to the visiting room.
