Prime Minister: Supporting Economic Projects and Accelerating Production Process

Damascus – In the presence of the Prime Minister, Eng. Emad Khamis, a number of participants in the 42nd Annual General Conference of the Engineers Union presented several proposals to develop the work of engineers in various sectors and support vital and economic projects in the phase of reconstruction.

In response to the participants’ interventions, the Prime Minister affirmed that the engineers are the men of reconstruction and development and real partners in the reconstruction phase and in building the future of Syria.

 He called for joining forces among government institutions, organizations, trade unions and the local community to face the current challenges imposed by the economic war on Syria.

 Mr. Khamis that the government is continuing to rebuild and achieve comprehensive development despite the harsh conditions experienced by the country. He explained that with the intensification of the economic war on Syria, it is necessary to change the priorities of the government’s work by focusing on accelerating the pace of production in all sectors and achieve stability in this process, especially in light of the difficulties of import and supply of oil derivatives either by preventing the arrival of tankers or ban sale Oil for Syria, pointing out that the government puts in mind improving the living conditions of citizens and ensure their needs.

Engineer Khamis said that the government is focusing on improving the reality of irrigation projects, drinking water, sanitation, roads, networks and power plants and ensuring the re-takeoff of affected facilities in all areas. He pointed out that what the government spent on rehabilitating water and sewage networks in the years 2016 to 2018 more than 230 billion Syrian pounds.

The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s continuing implementation of its vision regarding reconstruction, especially human development, pointing to the important role and intensive work carried out by the Human Development Committee in this context in various governorates.
