DUBAI, March.3, (ST)- Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, visited on Thursday the Syrian pavilion in the Expo 2020 Dubai.
Sheikh Al Maktoum toured sections of the pavilion and was briefed on the works of a group of Syrian artists and their exhibits of Syria’s brilliant history, the first alphabet, musical record and first poem of Ugarit kingdom.
He listened to an explanation by supervisors of the pavilion about one of the most important exhibits; an original copy of the first written alphabet which was discovered in Ugarit and dates back to nearly 1400 PC.
Sheikh Al Maktoum was also briefed on what the pavilion shows about the rich Syrian civilization, which was one of the first areas for agriculture in the world as it has more than 3200 types of plants and produces over 150 types of agricultural products.
