To follow up on the implementation of the response plan to alleviate the repercussions of the earthquake and on the organization of relief operations, the Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, accompanied by the Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghobash and the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Muhammad Saif Al-Din, inspected the damaged sites in the city of Jableh. The officials were briefed on the process of removing rubble and rescuing the injured.
Engineer Arnous was also briefed on the conditions of the affected families who were hosted in the shelter center at Jableh City Stadium that houses about 1,000 people, and was equipped by the City Council, the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, and the Jableh Sports Club.
Engineer Arnous was also briefed on the conditions of the injured in Jableh National Hospital, the first aid and treatment procedures, and the medical care provided to them.
Engineer Arnous said: Great efforts are being exerted by all the concerned authorities. Lattakia governorate has been directed to provide whatever necessary for work in the city of Jableh, and to take an immediate decision regarding the heavily damaged buildings and to close the roads leading to them, as they can be at any moment the cause for a new disaster.
Engineer Arnous added: There are associations that carry out their duty to provide relief to the affected, and aid has begun to arrive in Syria from friendly and brotherly countries, and we are directing the aid to the needy sites in Aleppo and Lattakia. All efforts are concentrated on securing the needs of the affected people as soon as possible.
