Prime Minister chairs a meeting to discuss reviving the leading role of Syria’s exportation sector in economic development
Prime Minister Hussein Arnous on Monday chaired an enlarged meeting for discussing the issue of reviving the leading role of the exportation sector in Syria based on an integrated package of programs and procedures to guarantee the fluidity and the competitiveness of the Syrian products in foreign markets, taking in to consideration the actual situation on the ground.
Syria’s exportation sector is one of the major factors of economic development.
The meeting discussed the memorandum of the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade which included several principles related to protecting basic and emerging industries, improving the infrastructure that supports export activities, producing goods required for exportation, expanding the circle of international economic relations, securing necessary logistic services to complete the exportation process, freight cost support programs, developing tax incentive systems for export industries and export financing programs and identifying points of weakness in the export process and solving them.
Focus was put on promoting the Syrian products through the Syrian embassies, on developing the Syrian brand and on supporting and encouraging the establishment of large export companies and establishing craft incubators to develop craft products that fit the needs of foreign markets. Emphasis was also placed on disseminating the culture of exportation at production unions and on building export-oriented industries.
