Prime Minister Arnous to the Emirati Ambassador: Strengthening bilateral cooperation and opening new horizons in a number of vital sectors

Prime Minister Engineer Hussein Arnous has met today with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Damascus Hassan Ahmad Al-Shehhi.
The two sides stressed the depth of the distinguished historical relations that bind the two brotherly countries and peoples and the necessity of building on them to enhance bilateral cooperation and open new horizons in a number of vital sectors, especially in light of the instability witnessed in the region and the world and the difficulties facing the global economy.
The Prime Minister pointed to what the Syrian government is doing to revitalize the economic sector, especially the priority sectors that affect the standard of living of citizens. He also touched on the economic, industrial and agricultural components that Syria possesses, broad investment opportunities and the skilled workforce, considering that there are many common points from which one can start to activate joint work, including management, governance and the transfer of expertise on both sides in several sectors.
Engineer Arnous expressed appreciation for the UAE’s standing by the Syrian people in facing the earthquake disaster and providing humanitarian and relief aid to those affected, stressing that the Syrian people will not forget the positions of brothers and friends who were a true support and aid to them in facing the repercussions of the earthquake.
For his part, the Emirati ambassador expressed his aspiration to enhance bilateral cooperation and develop historical relations for the benefit of the two brotherly countries, pointing to the possibilities of cooperation in the fields of environment, climate, water and other fields that serve the common interest of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Qais Kheder, and a member of the UAE mission, Counselor Abdul Hakim Al-Nuaimi,
