PRESS STATEMENT

The Diplomatic Club of Syria (DCoS) is hosting its second Ladies Charity Brunch on Tuesday, 15 March 2022 at 11h00. The Brunch takes place at the Nawafeer Restaurant, at the Sheraton Hotel, in Damascus, Syria.

The DCos is primarily constituted of the spouses of diplomats assigned to the Syrian Arab Republic. It also includes women diplomats and members of international organization who are bases in the country.

In its 26 years of history, the DCoS has raised funds, which are distributed to deserving organization and associations, across Syria.

There was  a lull in the activities of the DCoS after 2011. The DCoS regained momentum with the hosting of its historic international Charity Bazaar at the end of 2019. The Bazaar was followed with a glamorous gala dinner in February 2020.

After a brief break due to Covid, the DCos had its inaugural Ladies Charity Brunch in March 2021, which coincided with International Women’s Day. In November 2021, the second International Charity Bazaar since the reactivation of the DCoS, took place.

The DCoS fundraising events have been highly successful, enjoying generous support from the international community and the people of Syria, alike.

The March 2022 Brunch, which also occurs alongside International Women’s Day, is raising funds for associations that contribute to the economic empowerment of women, in this regard, our beneficiary partners are Libiladi Association and Mother Nation Association.

Both associations offer a wide range of development programmes, which also include enhancing the abilities of women to contribute to the economic security of their families and communities.
