Presidents Al-Assad, Lukashenko exchange congratulations on 30th anniversary of establishing the Syrian-Belarusian diplomatic relations
Damascus – President Bashar Al-Assad and President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus on Saturday exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishing the Syrian-Belarusian diplomatic ties.
President Al-Assad affirmed that Syria is keen on strengthening its relations with Belarus, expressing confidence that these relations will continue to flourish and develop, and that cooperation between the two sides will witness more success and progress thanks to the joint work between the institutions of both countries.
“The strong friendship between the two countries as well as the values and principles they believe in, form a strong base for continuing the work to achieve the common interest of the two friendly peoples,” President Al-Assad said, reiterating that cooperation is one of the tools through which the two sides can strengthen their confrontation of the western economic war that has been targeting them.
For his part, Lukashenko said that the Syrian-Belarusian relations have witnessed dynamic development over the past 30 years based on friendship and confidence, noting the high level of cooperation that has been established in the fields of trade, education, culture and sports.
“I am confident that our two countries will successfully deal with the challenges of the current stage and we will continue our fruitful cooperation both at the bilateral and the international levels,” The Belarusian President pointed out.
