President Tebboune: Syria should participate in the next Arab summit in Algeria

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria has reaffirmed his country’s support for Syria’s return to the Arab League, reiterating that Syria should take part in the next Arab summit in Algeria.

“Syria should participate in the next Arab summit in Algeria,” Tebboune said in an interview with representatives of the Algerian media, adding that his country seeks to make the summit “inclusive of the Arab ranks”.

Tebboune pointed out that among the summit’s files is the “reform of the Arab League”, criticizing the fact that no reforms have been made in this league since its foundation.

Earlier, the Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra said in a statement that his country supports the idea of Syria’s return to the Arab League, explaining that this issue is a key element in the preparations for holding the forthcoming Arab summit.

The Algerian president also regretted Morocco’s agreement with the Israeli entity, adding that it is “a shame that an Israeli minister threatens an Arab country from an Arab country”.
