President Rouhani Praises Bravery, Sacrifices of Plasco Firefighters, Rescue Workers

 President Hassan Rouhani praised bravery and sacrifices of the firefighters engaged in the Plasco building fire rescue operations while he toured the site of the destructive inferno that brought down the 17-storey trade center on Thursday, IRNA reported.

President Rouhani visited the site of the catastrophic fire Saturday morning to inspect the process of search and rescue operations for the trapped firefighters who were buried under rubbles when the huge building collapsed.

 

Talking to reporters, he expressed his deep sorrow over the incident and said the tragic incident taught a lesson to officials in charge of crisis situations to add to their vigilance and readiness.

He said officials should do the necessary programming to promote the civil rights of the citizens.

The President further praised the efforts by rescue workers to save the lives of people who were buried alive under the debris.

He further noted that those firefighters who lost their lives to save people from the blazes will remain deep at the hearts of the Iranian nation.

President Rouhani also offered his condolences to the bereaved families of the killed firefighters for the loss of their brave men.

The President also called for speedy installation of unemployment insurances for the workers who have lost their jobs because of the fire.
