President Raisi meets with Syrian officials, reaffirms Iran’s continued support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity

Within the framework of his visit to Syria, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi held meetings with Syria’s Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al- Mikdad, Minister of Awqaf (Endowments) Mohammad Abdul Sattar Al-Sayyed and Damascus scholars.

During his meeting with Al-Mikdad, President Raisi renewed his country’s continued support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, commending the positive diplomatic moves in the region and affirming in this context the wisdom and right stances of President Bashar Al-Assad in dealing with various issues and challenges that have faced Syria.

In turn, Minister Al-Mikdad presented Syria’s position on various political developments in the region and the world, particularly the recent diplomatic moves, including the results of his recent visits to a number of Arab States.
Al-Mikdad also reviewed the current preparations for participating in the meeting of the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Syria, Iran, Russia and Turkey in Moscow in the coming days.

In this regard, Al-Mikdad affirmed Syria’s adherence to its position which calls for an end to Turkey’s illegal military presence on Syrian territory.

Raisi, Arnous discuss boosting trade exchange

President Raisi also met with Prime Minister Hussein Arnous and discussed with him means of enhancing cooperation.

The two sides stressed the need to follow up on the cooperation documents signed earlier in the day and to find the proper executive mechanisms for implementing the signed agreements to serve the interests of the peoples of the two countries.

Discussions also focused on the measures that should be taken to boost trade exchange.

The Iranian President underlined the willingness of the Iranian companies to effectively and actively participate in Syria’s reconstruction process.

Raisi meets the Minister of Awqaf and senior scholars of Damascus

President Raisi also met at his residence in Damascus today with the top scholars of Damascus, in the presence of Minister of Endowments Dr. Mohammed Abdul Sattar Al-Sayyed.

The scholars welcomed President Raisi in Syria, stressing the importance of strategic relations between Syria and Iran to be a united force against the American and Zionist terrorism that targeta he region and all the peoples of the Arab and Islamic countries. He praised President Bashar Al-Assad’s steadfast approach that thwarted all plots of takfirism and terrorism and the schemes of the West, mainly America and Israel.

For his part, President Raisi thanked the leadership and people of Syria for their steadfastness. He expressed Iran’s solidarity  with the Syrian people, affirming that the strategic Syrian-Iranian relations are deep and firm and they contribute to the stability of all states in the region.

President Raisi also stressed that President Assad’s resistance approach has achieved Syria’s victory over terrorism and its supporters.
