President Putin Congratulates President Al-Assad on Independence Day

 DAMASCUS, (ST)_ President Bashar Al-Assad, on Wednesday, received a congratulation cable from Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, on the occasion of the Independence day.

In his cable, President Putin expressed his confidence in consolidating the historical friendship relations between Russia and Syria and that the bilateral constructive cooperation will ensure stability and security to the Middle East.

President Putin wished President Al-Assad and the Syrian people much health, success and peace.

Prime Minister, Dr. Wael Alhalaki, received a cable from his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev, congratulating him on this occasion in which he stressed the multifaceted joists of bilateral ties between Syria and Russia especially in the commercial, economic, scientific, technical and cultural domains.  

Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Walid Al-Moallem also received a congratulation cable from his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov expressing his confidence that the Syrian people are capable of surmounting all crises they have been through to restore peace and security to the country.

“We highly appreciate the close cooperation between Russia and Syria in the regional and international issues,” Lavrov added.

“Russia will continue to provide full support for the Syrian – Syrian dialogue and will work to prevent the foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs,” he concluded.
